Herr Library to host afternoon tea program
press release
The staff at the Herr Memorial Library will present a free tea program, an afternoon "Sweet Heart Tea," at 3 p.m. on Sat., Feb. 16. Books about tea and about entertaining will be featured.
An afternoon tea, in contrast to a high tea, is generally held between 3 and 5 p.m. and focuses on presentation of the tea and finger foods along with conversation. A high tea traditionally is held after 5 p.m. in place of a dinner and features hearty dishes as opposed to snacks.
Participants in the afternoon tea program will learn about different teas and tea traditions, and they will receive a sample of "Sweet Heart Tea" and take home some recipes.
Space is limited, and advance registration is required. To register or for more information, call 966-0831 or visit the library at 500 Market Street in Mifflinburg.
