Herr Library offers book lists for babies, preschoolers
press release
Sayvon Martin, 6, chooses one of the books listed in the "Great Books" pamphlets that are available at the Herr Memorial Library in Mifflinburg.
Good reading habits begin
early, but with a sea of books to choose from, parents may be
understandably confused. To help parents get their children off
to a great start, the staff at the Herr Memorial Library has created
two pamphlets: "Great Books to Share with Infants and Toddlers" and
"Great Books to Share with Preschoolers."
The pamphlets are available free of charge
at the library, which is located at 500 Market Street in
Mifflinburg.
The books listed in the pamphlets were
chosen specifically for the needs of emergent readers. Each has
something to teach a child, whether it's the repetition of sounds or
the introduction of shapes and colors.
The books that are featured in the pamphlets
are all in the library's circulating collection, and for a limited time
many of them will be displayed together on a cart in the library's
Children's Room.
For more information, visit the library or
call 966-0831. The Herr Memorial Library is open from 11 a.m. to
5 p.m. Tuesday through Thursday, from 7 to 9 p.m. Monday through
Friday, and from 10 to 5 p.m. on Saturday.
