In addition to the spring book sale, Herr Memorial Library hosts an annual Silent Auction in October that features newly handmade and heirloom quilts and quilted items as well as a gift section of items donated by area individuals and businesses.
During Mifflinburg’s Christkindl Market in December, the library’s Children’s Room becomes a cozy German-inspired “Kaffeehaus” where baked goods, coffee, hot cocoa, and tea are available for a donation. Collectible Christmas cards that feature three different authentic Victorian designs have been offered annually since 2008.
